My husband and I reached out to Soho Dance to get dance lessons for our first dance at our wedding. We got assigned Lucia, and it truly was the best thing that could have happened to us. I think we had a total of 6-7 classes, but after the second class, we had the entire routine down - it was all just about perfecting it.

Lucia came up with the entire dance, after we expressed our song and vision to her. She even edited the music. She was so friendly, her schedule was so flexible, and she took advantage of each minute of every class.

We really lucked out with her. She is so incredibly talented, and it shows.

Our wedding was about a month ago and people don't stop talking about our first dance. The choreography was so amazing.

It should also be noted that neither myself not my husband are dancers in any way!

Thank you Lucia! Do not think twice about using her for your first dance choreography. Our friends are going to use her too!

In preparation for our wedding, I was tasked with finding a dance instructor for our first dance and father-daughter dance. I saw an advertisement for Soho Dance LA and decided to give it a shot. This was the best decision. We worked with Lucia and she choreographed both dances beautifully to adapt to our chosen songs and dance level. It was a wonderful experience. At our wedding, we had many compliments. Guests were so impressed with the dances. I absolutely recommend.

I have started going to La ballroom Studio about two months ago. From the moment I stepped in the studio, everyone from the front desk to the teachers, has been nice, helpful and welcoming!
They offer private lessons, group classes (by level) and parties. The instructors are very talented, knowledgeable patient and really fun to learn from. They pinpoint your goals and help you work towards them at your pace. They are challenging and supporting. I am currently 7 months pregnant, and JD has been amazing working with me around this "challenge" of having a constantly changing balance and a growing tummy!
I feel that the classes (both private and group) are a perfect combination of fun and learning, and the parties are a great opportunity to put in practice what you learn during classes.
The other students are nice and also helpful and there is an upbeat ambiance in the studio. You don't have to have a partner, so couple and single person are welcome! Even if I'm going by myself, I feel that it would be an amazing and fun couple activity, and would be a great gift idea.
They also regularly organize outing to dancing places (La cicada, el floridita...) with other students and teachers. It is a fun way to use your dancing skills in a social context!
I enjoy dancing and going to the studio a lot, and can not go a week without it!

I love this studio! Everyone is so nice and down to earth. The classes are super specific and really have accelerated my learning, the instructors are so fun to learn from and are super knowledgeable. The community has been super supportive and I love going to the parties to get to know more people who share the same passion for dance as I do. The rates for all of the classes and everything are very good compared to other studios and I really appreciate that!

Dance With Me Sherman Oaks has the most beautiful and gorgeous ambiance I have ever experienced for a dance studio in Los Angeles! My fair share of traveling the globe over 10 times has given me a plethora of opportunities to check out the best dance studios across the world for my daughter. That being said, the luxury and warmth I feel when I walk into DWMSO is one of the most treasured feelings I cherish. Each person is extremely inviting and friendly, two qualities I hold very highly! I have not been able to come to the studio to dance as often as I would like to with my work schedules, however, the love I see in my child's eyes on her every return from the studio is enough of a reason for me to want to return back to DWMSO often; Not only to watch the creative talent that exudes from there, but for myself in hopes of achieving the same great heights many others have already reached before me.

Had the opportunity to take Gina's Zumba class and It was fantastic!! The energy in the class is so positive and the routines are awesome. You definitely won't regret checking it out. You can pay for a single class or for a package deal. Street parking is usually available. I'm definitely looking forward to going back there again.

So here's the scoop:
I decided to take lessons after a date took me dancing. We got all dressed up, listened to jazz, then he took me to the dance floor. What should have been a romantic evening turned into a steady stream of panic attacks because (Oh sweet mother of all that is good on this planet) I had no idea what I was doing. I was awkward and needy- two things a girl NEVER wants to be, especially on a date. While my date said I was cute, I said, "NOPE! This will not do."
I looked up some studios in the area and DWM caught my eye. Next thing I knew, I was in the studio. The people here are amazing. I immediately felt like I was joining a family. Jonathan, my lovely instructor, has been so patient with me and I've learned so much from him in only a handful of lessons. He caters the lessons to my needs and teaches the lessons in a way I can understand. I have a confidence that I didn't have before and the joy I get out of dancing now is incredible. What started out as a "Hey why not" activity has turned into something I really love and look forward to, thanks to Jonathan and DWM.
That date from way-back-when is long gone, but my days on the dance floor are far from over.

I have been in love with Ballroom dance since I was a little girl, I remember watching competitions on PBS with my Mother... one of my fondest memories with her... I unfortunately never got to dance as a child or a teen... it wasn't until after I became an adult that I really wanted to try ballroom dancing but as life seems to get in the way... I was diagnosed with Cancer and spent years in that battle, but watching dance still brought me joy and comfort... DWTS became a big part of my Cancer Journey as my chemo days were on a Monday so watching the show would always distract me from the discomfort... then I was fortunate to meet some of the dancers on a trip to LA 2 years ago and fell more in love with dance... I moved to LA over a year ago and attended the Grand Opening for DWM here in Sherman Oaks, I was talked into an Intro package, which changed my life... I can not put into words what that first dance lesson meant to me... it was so magical that I started to cry... I actually felt pretty and graceful and I haven't felt that way in years... I have been dancing here for over a year now and I can't ever imagine dancing anywhere else, I can't even imagine my life without dance....
DWM Sherman Oaks is now my family... and I mean that... they have supported me thru a lot... and now that my Cancer is back they continue to support me... I can not say enough how wonderful this place is... It truly is my happy place
Elena Grinenko and Rib Hillis , the owners are the greatest people I have ever met and I am blessed to call them family! My instructor Jonathan is more than just a teacher he is my life coach, counselor, cheerleader and friend. All the instructors are family and the best in LA, Well, the best anywhere in opinion... Artemi, Adrienne, Lee, Stephen are talented brilliant teachers... the staff here is superb.. very informative and helpful, Susan, Manager and Olivia, front desk, they make you feel like family, taking lessons here was the best thing I ever did... Thank You DWM Sherman Oaks for enriching my life... What a joy it is to dance here! Xx
