I'm not sure what else to say about Debut Dance District other than deciding to go here (on my own, with absolutely 0 dance experience) was one of the best decisions I ever made. If you're nervous about getting involved, are on the fence about going because you have no dance background, or feel shy because you have no one to go with, no need. Everyone that goes here is incredibly friendly and welcoming - and that's one of the best parts about Debut: the community. Everyone cheers each other on, and you will for sure meet new people and make friends who you can hang with outside of the dance studio. I started making friends on just my second class. And there's very few feelings more rewarding than the camraderie you'll have formed with your fellow classmates after finishing learning a song.

They teach every K-pop song you can think of here, balancing all the new hits with popular classics. There are class options that will teach you the entirety of the song (and at different speeds - beginners can learn a song over the course of a month, and those who are more advanced can learn a song over 2 weeks), and single classes where you can learn just the chorus. Make no mistake: K-pop doesn't come to you overnight, so you do have to practice at home on your own in between classes if you want to truly perfect the moves.

Yireh is the primary instructor, and while some of the reviews say she is strict, I couldn't disagree more. She cares very much about making her students better. The way she breaks down each dance will have you immediately dancing in a way you may not even have thought was previously possible. She is absolutely incredible - and I know I speak for everyone when I say we are in constant amazement at her dance ability, teaching ability, and how she knows the choreo to EVERY K-pop song.

The best kpop studio in Los Angeles and possibly all of US and other counties where I’ve lived.

This place always has the latest choreos like one week after the song comes out. They also have re-run of popular choreos like Dynamite from BTS. Note that the class is the entire choreo, so it’s a commitment of several weeks. However, there are 1 day classes too.

Students are loyal and typically have been learning here long term; they are chill once you start talking to them. A good way to make new friends.

This is the best dance place to go to if you want to improve your Kpop dance. The learning speed is intense at first - 8 to 12 eight counts of choreography a day - but it makes you a better and faster dancer if you practice! There is always filming at the end too so you can feel motivated to do your best for Youtube. There are also separate Kpop Cover teams that you can join to further improve your teamwork, outfits, formations, etc. Debut Dance used to be called Dancejoa and it is in a discreet location, hard to find, underneath KTown PC. Sometimes private auditions are offered here, before COVID of course. Entertainment companies know that this studio is very good for training people who are interested in KPop!

During COVID19, the sanitary measures are VERY GOOD. They offer online classes and in person classes for different prices. Dances are either 1 day, 4 day, 5 day, or y day classes depending on the difficulty for 1 hour a day. If you choose in perosn classes, doors open 10 minutes before class. You can bring bare necessities only and always wear mask! At the door they take your temperature and give you sanitizer. There are shoe sanitation pads as well. DO NOT ENTER THE STUDIO WITHOUT WIPING FEET ON SANITATION PADS! There is a restroom and you get a few minutes to stretch on your own. Trust the teacher, usually Yireh, to go over the difficult parts a few times for beginners, so do not worry! Have fun and try your best!

Have been coming here for awhile. Great place to start a dance journey. I started with beginner classes and it really helped build and teach me the foundations. I admit, it was a little difficult at first but I learned not to be afraid to ask question. Honestly love this studio!!!! Met so many great and amazing people. Definitely recommend.

Coming to Debut Dance District has been a life changing experience.  I have been a student for over 8 months now and have improved my dancing greatly.  And had a lot of fun learning the entire choreography to some of my favorite songs.

Studio details: Located in K-Town and the plaza has its own lot with EV charging ports. Clean, well-lit, spacious, and great flooring.  The studio is very responsive over email.

Teachers: The teacher I mainly take is Yireh.  Yireh is incredibly knowledgeable in dance, extremely talented, and will teach you unlike any other dance teacher.  She's tough and can seem very intimidating, but she's very caring, humorous, and invested in her students.  She's very eagle eyed, detailed, effective and efficient with the class time, quick to catch and correct any mistake, expects the students to practice outside of class time, and appreciates when you work hard.  She has high standards, but believes that each student has the capability to meet them.  I always leave class learning something insightful about dance, not only just the choreography.

I have taken a few classes with Jo and Charleen and they are great teachers as well.  They are detailed, explain and drill the movements, very friendly, and enjoyable to learn from. Unfortunately, I haven't taken a class with Kim, but my fellow classmates have said wonderful things about Kim and her teaching style as well.

Classes:  Unlike most studios, classes at Debut are done in series where at the end of the class series, you will learn the entire choreography of a song and film the choreography as a class.  Since classes are not standalone classes and build upon the prior class, it's highly recommended that you start at the beginning of each series and practice outside of class time.  There are 3 types of class series: Beginners made up of 8 classes, Intensive made up of 6 classes, and Regular made up of 4 classes.  All classes are 1 hour long and beginner series change songs every month while intensive and regular series change songs every two weeks.  Zoom/virtual options are also an option to attend any of the series.

Community:  The students here are all friendly, supportive, and encouraging.  I have made some awesome friends here!

Truly the best place to learn K-pop. The teacher is a genuine dancer, not just some random people who've danced for a while and actually need training themselves. I really admire Yireh's skills. And dancemates I met here are also supportive and nice.
