Yesterday my and my BF came here for our first salsa lesson! The place is beautiful,well maintained and a lot of space to dance and practice. Teacher Gaby was amazing,fun and definitely knows so much about the dance!! We had an hour class that went by so fast and we got to meet such a nice group of people and teachers definitely we will come back and take more lessons!

Cucala Dance Company is a wonderful, inclusive place to learn and hone your salsa skills. The talented (award winning) instructors are kind, funny and encourage you to challenge yourself. I’ve been a student here since they started the company and the teachers have helped me grow as a dancer (and person) exponentially. It’s super close to the 7 train and in a sunny location with lots of studio space so even when the classes are packed you still have wiggle room! At Cucala they see the potential in you even when you may not see it yourself and bring it out in a way that’s fun and engaging! 10 out of 10, highly recommend!

So thankful I found Cucala! I have been taking classes here for a little over a year, with all the instructors. They are very personable and break things down for you. Above all, they make me feel at home 🙂

I have done the Salsa 102 cycle, bachata performance bootcamps and classes, and countless drop-ins on the weekend and Thursday evenings for advanced beginner lessons. The class sizes are just right and I am comfortable asking questions in this super welcoming space.

I grew up in Queens and am happy to find a studio here that could offer the community I experienced in Boston/Cambridge learning salsa and bachata during grad school. Dancing is important for my mental health and when I am having a difficult week, I try to go to Cucala so I can have fun and stay in the present.

My husband and I started taking salsa lessons at Cucala as complete beginners; now one year later taking classes is still a favorite part of our week, in no small part to the welcoming, fun-loving atmosphere created by the amazing instructors!

And now we have TWO reasons to head to Cucala during the week: in addition to salsa, we've started going to Anh Tran's Alignment Yoga classes! It is a highly accessible class (no prior experience necessary) with a true emphasis on wellness; each time I've gone I've left feeling fantastic.

I've been taking Anh's alignment class for a couple months now and love it. She is very knowledgeable and thorough taking great care that each student understands not only how to do each pose but also how the pose should feel, which I really appreciate as a beginner. Every time I leave her class I feel really good and energized.

I was looking for Yoga classes in Sunnyside, and I found this place thanks to Evenwrite, lucky me, I found classes with Anh Tran! She is an amazing and inspiring coach! She has a lot of patience and she will take care of you and correct your postures if you are a beginner like me! She takes her job seriously and she loves what she does, she is so lovely!

Cucala is a clean and organized place equipped with mats, blocks, blankets, and all you need for the class! Well done! Namaste

I just took my first class with Cucala today. Everyone was super welcoming and encouraging. I like that we each had the opportunity to dance with several of the instructors. I received personal feedback which I really appreciated and can be rare in big group classes. I also loved that there was an instructor explaining all of the follower's technique. So often I've been in classes where only the leads were actually taught directly. The instructors also ask often if there are questions and are happy to go over steps. Overall, a great experience that I recommend! Thank you Cucala!
